Traveler's Help The White river system is situated in the Northern part of the state of Arkansas, in the Ozark Mountains area. Arkansas is considered to be the natural state and that is very true. It is very rural, contains great resources for both hunting and fishing. Rivers, streams and lakes contain both cold and warm water species. There is never a day you cannot go fishing. It is the White River that draws fly fisherman from all over the USA. The White River system holds fame for the world record Brown trout of 40.4ozs and many other trophies in the high 20 to 30 lb range. Four species of trout are found in the river: Brown, Rainbow, Cutthroat and Brook trout. All methods of fly fishing will catch fish on this river system, dry fly, nymph, streamer, emerger and wet fly. The best overall seasonal periods are between April and the End of November. We fish both from boats on float trips and wade fishing. There is no trout system in the entire EEC that is even close to this fishery.
